Orange Medical Marijuana replied to the topic Re:This is just WRONG! Doctor scam in OC in the forums. Orange County Patients.

Something strange happened yesterday at the OC Health Services Dept (or whatever they are called) -- while I was applying for my CA MMJ ID Card, the clerk told me my recommendation from MMEC was, "not good anymore". She said that Dr. Tarlan wasn't there anymore and I'd have to get a new rec. Then she mumbled something about having to "speak directly to the doctor".

After a quick trip over to MMEC on 17th St., the nice, and I do mean nice, lady behind the counter re-printed all my paperwork and had Dr. Bonni sign my rec. No explanations; courteous, prompt, pleasant.

Back to the HS Dept and she processed my application and took my money. Weird. My rec was valid and in-date but the State didn't want to except it because Dr. Tarlan was no longer at the OC MMEC location. Does that strike anyone as strange?

The only explanation I can think of is the Health Dept. verifies the doctor approval letter with the doctor. Perhaps, since your doctor is no longer with MMEC, they are not aware of how to get ahold of him/her to verify? Seems odd but a possible explanation.
