I visited AMCH today for the first time. It was kind of a fiasco to find the place but I'm unfamiliar with the area. I was greeted by a security guard with character and filled out my papers. After getting in there was a little wait but they had cold water, and that's always a plus in my book.

After a few minutes I was invited in by my Budtender. They guy keeps a clean, impressive shop. The most strains I've seen on hand and D knew his stuff. I went in the for the Honey Haze but ended up leaving with some Durban and Lemon AK. Both are very tasty.

All in all I give this place a 4.5 out of 5. Great medicine at a decent price.

This place has a great atmosphere. The guys who work here are very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. They have great home strains for $35 to $45 and their top shelf buds are never more than $55 and they are dank! 4 gram 1/8th's for making them your primary kicks ass too. Amazing selection of hash, the earwax is bomb. My only complaint in the past was that the edibles weren't as strong as I would like them to be but they are putting out new edibles all the time and the new ones are pretty strong.

Let me just start by saying that I have visited many different dispensaries in Denver, but none of them have been quite what I was looking for. Until now. When I first walked in, I admit I was a little surprised to see a security guard greet me in the lobby. However, it turns out he's a really nice guy, who even chatted a little with me as I was filled out the paperwork. Honestly, I can understand why a security guard is necessary, as can anyone that has lived or worked on Capitol Hill for an extended period of time. That said, the place feels safer because of it. Once I was let into the waiting area, I was greeted by a really nice woman at the desk, who invited me to enjoy some refreshments and/or relax in one of their massage chairs while I waited. Wow! The waiting area was very clean and organized, but in a laid-back/comfortable sort of way.

A few minutes later I was let into the medicine room, and the budtender (David), immediately introduced himself, and was very friendly and informative. He clearly knows his stuff, and was eager to help me with whatever I wanted to look at, while also educating me on the specifics of each strand. What I found to be refreshing was that David actually seemed like he really enjoyed his job, and he really seems to care about his customers. A lot of times I have felt awkward in certain dispensaries, and in some of them I even felt downright unwanted, not at AMCH. I felt welcome and appreciated, and that right there is a big thing for me. As for the product itself, MIND-BLOWING quality strands here! Not only that, but there are A LOT to choose from (just look at their menu at the top of this page). In addition to their huge collection of tasty looking strains, they have the largest selection of edibles I have seen yet, as well as a pretty huge Hash menu too.

Not only do they have a big selection of quality meds, but it is all priced to compete with literally any other dispensary. Behind the counter they have a big menu that lists every product and their prices. They even have certain strains which they put on "special", with one for as low as $35 an eighth (and it looked GOOD)! Whether you are looking for a large variety, a great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, or good deals, AMCH has it all. I'm glad because after looking and looking at dispensaries around Denver, I think I have finally found my spot. I recommend this place to anyone reading this, and I will continue to encourage others to check it out as well.

I only have ‘high praise’ for Alternative Medicine on Capital Hill. AMCH IS your quintessential‘ friendly neighborhood dispensary on capital hill’ and they have the best cure for what ails you. They are a fine addition to our Cap Hill Community centrally located with a phenomenal selection of medicines giving one the opportunity to really modify an efficacious medicine specific to your situation. Their fabulous variety of ‘medibles’ has proven for me to be most therapeutic and tasty mode of medication. In addition to a knowledgeable and helpful staff, Alternative Medicine on Capital Hill is fully wheel chair accessible and wheel chair friendly making each visit smooth and drama-free at an accessible and convenient locale (14th and Ogden).

this place is great they always have a awesome selection of bud. the durban ,sour d, L.A. confidential, and never a shortage of indica I.e> purple urkle, purple kush hindu kush great white the list goes on.... there is always something new in there. the staff is very helpful all of the bud tenders have a vast knowledge of the bud. the waiting room has free sodas and snacks or massage chairs but you don't spend too much time in there so it doesn't really matter.its really great location right in the middle of capitol hill. you will never be bummed about the hash menu they always have something to please. there house hash is definitely the best price in town. they have a 55$ cap and thats good, it is pretty standard pricing. i would recommend this place to anyone. i don't know what that other guy was saying about cops out front and that shouldn't matter if your papers are in order.

My fav's are Durban Poison, Sour Diesel, and the Purple Urkle. WOW amazing strains! I Love the Crunch Berry Cereal Bar, Dark Chocolate covered Oreo, and house hash. Way too many flavors of ice cream to pick one. Atmosphere Pro's: Massage Chairs and snacks in waiting room, Bud room has clean layout, very pleasing to eye. Con's: Needs colors or pictures or paintings or something. Staff is great, always up beat, friendly and always knowledgable. The convenience is the only issue for me. I used to work downtown and now I don't, but SE Aurora has nothing like this. The parking has always been fine, but last week I got the last spot in the place around 3:30 on a Friday, but never an issue before, I guess it's hit or miss down town weekends. There's a very large selection of bud and HASH. Their meds are very fairly priced especiallyfor the quality.Nothing is over $55 and I've always gotten what I've paid for. I Also enjoy thier edible selection, as I said the ice cream is my favorite. Overall I would recommend this place.

I've been going to A.M.C.H for a couple month now and let me tell you "Your not missing out on ANYTHING".

The last visit was the straw the broke the camels backs, Not only did I have to drive around the block a couple of times to find a parking spot, the second time I circled the block there was a Cop car sitting right in front! I don't know about you but I don't feel comfortable buying my meds when there's a cop right outside in his Denver police car with his lights and sirens on....No Thank you.

When the cop left I went into Amch and got there "Grape Ape Haze" and let me say it was neither grape ape or haze. When I got back to my place I was more then excited to try out this stain. It had more then 20 plus seeds in it, great if i'm a grower but i'm not, I'm sick and cant grow for myself, and this isn't the first time that has happened. It had an awful high and helped me in no way. I know a seed doesnt way that much but 20 in an 1/8th weighs it down im sure. Oh Yeah and let me say this- there "Black Betty" is just durban poision and they say it's exclusive Pshhhhh.

In Conclusion, their meds are wayyyy over priced, not high quality... I hate to be this negative but it's right in between home and work which is why I have been going here, not to mention I dont want to go to any clubs on colfax but now I think I will give another club in the area a try

I have been to AMCH at least 8 times (mostly because they were the closest disp to my home) and am still treated like a stranger by their rude receptionist.

Bud Quality: Mostly small, over dried buds..they have a large selection but what good is it if they all look the same? I really have an issue with the fact that they sale their house buds for $20 gram...mostly because they are being overtly and shamlessly greedy and secondly because most of their house strians aren't worth that price! AMCH also carries a large selection of hash and keif..most of which has too much leaf matter. I've purchased and been disappointed with; trainwrek hash, bubble hash, and blonde keif. The one good thingthat kept me coming back was their medicated cereal treats..not bad.

Atmosphere:AMCH has a small waiting room, which you will get to know well because the bud ternders like to chit chat with all the female clients while their waiting room fills beyond capacity. Then they take you in the back dispensing area with up to 5 other patients (no patient privacy!)where you get to wait again for everyone to choose between all their so so strains.

Staff: Receptionist is rude and only there to distract male clients with her ever present cleavage. The other two guys who own the joint have an overtly generic greeting and patronizingly enthusiastic facade. All these two really want to do is sling you the house buds and get you out so they can move on to the rest of the suckers. Their caregiver incentives are a complete joke (free edible...whoppee! and 4.2 gram 1/8's...lame) The security guard is pretty nice and seems to remember patients much better than the owners.

Convenience:If you know what street parking in Capitol Hill is like then I need say no more.

Price: Almost everything is over priced!

AMCH got an early start to dispensing on the hill and unless they realize they are not the only kids on the block any more they will probably end up like their meds small and dried out!

let me start off with the meds , i picked up on some bud candy and northern ice! and these were both tasty meds! lived up to the names that's for sure, plus they have a huge selection on medication! check em out, and the prices are around average..

ok now the budtender was fuckin kool! really nice and dude was smart he was talking about alot stuff, but i think i was to medicated to fully understand,

now there security idea is kool, but i don't like how he treated me and my buddy on our first visit, he was very rude . He told us to wait in the waiting room which we did, about 5 mins past and another patient comes in , he gets greeted nicely and get walked in by the security guy, now maybe a minute after that the security guy comes back says we're are not medical marijuana patients and tell us to leave..... he totally made us uncomfortable and didn't want to shop here at all. he also said that just by us walking in there door we should be arrested and goto jail, and later told us that if he were a cop he would arrest us himself right then and there.... it sounds almost to stupid to real but it was

we were not only pissed but shocked as well, luckily the budtender come out and had to talk some since into this weirdo. And we were able to get our meds and be on our way, the budtender was nice enough to give us each a gift bag with a few goodies, edibles,joints ect....


but overall i enjoyed this place,and i suggest it to anyone and everyone

oh yeah one more thing tho, tell that rent-a-cop to start treating patients like patients and not like thugs!

As a smoker for most of my life, this is a weedlover's heaven! The selection is absolutely incredible, and the service felt like something straight out of a 5-star hotel. One of the managers, a newyorker type, was extremely patient and kind with me and helped me find the medicine that would "suit" me the most. The receptionist was a very gorgeous girl who processed my medical papers in record time! They were attentive to my every need and really listened to my concerns. The location cant be beat either, right in the middle of happening Capitol Hill! The price for the quality of the bud is absolutely fantastic as well. I'd recommend this place to anyone :-)

The medicinal varieties at AMCH are one great thing that really set it apart from other places. After several visits I have developed a preference for my favorite few leaf strains, and thankfully I've seen the quality of those go up in the past couple months. Sometimes product seems to be a little dry, but everything always weighs out.
Tinctures are new to the menu and that's pretty great to see, especially since they have both alcohol and glycerin-based methods. I would also absolutely recommend them for a reliable and potent hashish source, i.e. the oil, afghani and blondie.

The staff at AMCH are always incredibly welcoming and helpful. Walking to the grocery store is more difficult and stressful. I know that my well-being and safety are also paramount to the people there. The environment is always respectful and never awkward or uneasy.

The location is very convenient and easy to get to since it is right along 14th avenue (one-way eastbound), and off 13th (one-way westbound) and Colfax. Pretty much perfect for many patients in an extended area.

Price is something to be contended with. It is true that similar medication can be found for lesser prices. While no 3.5g is over $60, I am hoping $50 will become more common and default with more strains in the near future.

I keep going to AMCH because the people are great, and new things are always showing up. They want patients to be happy and as such always keep finding ways to do just that.

I started coming to Amch two weeks ago and this place rules! The staff is so knowledgeable and the products are great, there is something there for everyone. I needed something that will help me go to sleep so i picked up medical marijuana called 'Skunk' and it was amazinggg! I fell asleep so fast and did not wake up once during the night.

I also love the Sunset Kush strain. It's not too heavy which is great, it makes you feel very good and relaxed WITHOUT making you tired. It's great during the day!

Finally you have got to try Amch's delicious ice cream. Besides the obvious great feeling you get after consuming it;) it's got that rich, homemade taste like something you would buy at an ice cream shop. My favorite flavors are Cinnamon and Chai.

There are still lots of products to try, like that mary jane butter for example! Can't wait to try it all little by little.

I definitely recommend Amch to everyone with a license out there and remember GET THE ICE CREAM!!!

BQ - a few great strains that they do themselves. My fav of those is Black Betty. Also great keef and hash selection. Offer two dozen or so strains but I'm not going to pay more then $50 for a bag. Lucky for me their best stuff is their own and is $50.

AT - Its ok. Second waiting room has a flat screen, coffee, muffins, candy, books... now that i think about it, cute woman at the desk, security guard, playoff football on tv... not bad at all.

ST - Lenny is a nice guy and very very helpful. Almost no pressure.

CV - Great for those of us on the south side of DT or in caphill.

PR - the most chronic stuff if 50 an 8th. Hash 40 a gram, keef 30 a gram.

I have been going to this place since it first opened, and I am biased for sure, due to the fact that their staff are great and they are right next to my house. I've gone to a number of dispensaries before settling on this one, and they all failed to meet my expectations. Whether it was price or atmosphere, I just never felt comfortable at other places. But from when i first walked in and met Lenny and then David, the proprietors, I have felt comfortable and at home.

The reception area is really nice, with a couple of nice couches, a big screen TV, plenty of books with pretty pictures of bud, coffee and snacks...and if you are lucky, J, one of the front desk people, will have some of her home baked goodies. They also have a board with all the strains available that day. The service is professional to a fault. One of the owners will take you one at a time into a nice dispensary area, glass counters filled with goodies greet you as you make your way to the bud counter with a rotating group of 30-40 strains, hash, tinctures, and baked goods. I have to say that up until now their bud has been decent, but not anything that i would call FIRE, and the prices are on the high side.
but i always found something really good to smoke for a decent price as a member, plus the 4 gram 8ths help.

Yesterday the boys stepped it up a few notches! their home grown strains are finally here and they are beautiful! So far I tried one strain, the Skunk Kush, and I had to write a review about it cause it has just been amazing! and for the member price of $50 a 4 gr 8th, you cant beat it !

I checked this place out because it is convenient for me. It was a professional enviroment. The gentleman in the dispensary was friendly and knowledgeable. They had a reasonable selection and was priced fairly. I was not inpressed with their selection or quality of edibles.
