I decided to make the trek to Herbal Wellness last Thursday, so I pulled out my i-Phone 4 and followed the weedmaps app right to the front door. They have a big sign out front for easy spotting. I must admit I was a little confused by the parking situation but I parked on the left side of the building which was apparently fine. I rang the doorbell and an armed guard opened the door and let me in. Being from out of town, I was always told that this wasn't one of the best neighborhoods in Denver but didn't look like what I was being told was true.
The waiting area has a flat screen TV, plenty of reading material, music when the TV is off, snacks, drinks and a couple of black leather couches.
I filled out a couple forms as the lady at the front desk copied my papers and proceeded to the back. In the green room it was kind of dark which isn't too flattering to the flowers. With two separate cases for the flowers and edibles behind the counter.They have a huge selection of everything. I think around 30 -35 strains, several types of concentrates and too many different edibles to count. They have a large magnifying glass, with light, to closer examine the buds. The bud tenders are very knowledgeable, friendly and didn't mind me asking questions and tying them up for an extra 45 minutes. I parted with a gram of Golden Goat, Sour Kush, Grape Kush, Lemon Kush and G-13. Two peanut butter cups, a Keef Cola, a rasberry Granny T Truffle, a bottle of THC olive oil and a huge smile. Their prices could be a little more competitive and kinder to the patients but then again I grew up in Amsterdam paying no more than $5 a gram.
Now for the fun stuff.

Strain name: Golden Goat ( Hydroponic)

Smell test: When you first open the bag there isn’t a pungent smell but rather a mild sweet scent of sativa, It’s very flowery and sweet lemon pine aroma that reminds me of soap you might find at Bath and Body works.

Sight test: This flower is cured beautifully. It is mostly lime green, with darker spots of green throughout. The hairs are incredibly long and golden orange true to the characteristics of an excellent Golden Goat. At a closer, 60x, look I see great trichome coverage. All the trichomes are milky white with almost all slightly amber heads.

Pinch test: When you pinch a nug the aroma gets stronger and it takes a while for it to sponge back out and doesn’t quite fully return to its shape. The stems have very little give before they snap indicating some dryness which is the only thing I could find that wasn’t perfect.

Taste test: Upon inhale the flowery smell can be tasted, the smoke is very smooth and light. It’s very easy to hold in and on exhale the sweet lemon can be faintly tasted, leaving a nice fresh feeling in the lungs.

Brain test: I packed 0.25g in a bowl and it burned so nice I was able to burn it all in one hit. It was easy to hold in and I ghosted it. It packs an instant energetic punch. It works great for my PTSD (anxiety and depression) and it also eased my back pain enough for me to workout. A great daytime medication.

Strain name: Sour Kush (Soil)

Smell test: I opened the bag and my nose was immediately greeted by a sour yet sweet smell. Kind of like a key lime pie but with a strong indica undertone that is very dominant in its fragrance.

Sight test: The buds are shaped like small cones and look very dense. They are a rich green with vibrant reddish orange hairs. After closer examination I see that they trichomes are all milky white and prime for smoking.

Pinch test: When you pinch a nug the Indica aroma gets stronger and you can feel how dense the bud is. It hardly starts to sponge back never fully returning to its shape. The stems have very little give before they snap and I can’t wait to taste it.

Taste test: Upon inhale the sweet lime like flavor rolls over the tongue and expands as soon as it gets into your lungs. This is a little hard to hold in but not too bad. When you exhale there is a spicy hash after taste that tickles the nose and could easily make an amateur cough.

Brain test: I packed 0.25g in the blue dot. As it burned lots of smoke and I got a monster rip, almost to my full lung capacity. I held it in and almost ghosted it but…..there was still some green left. I got 1 more small hit . This one hits you right between the eyes. My eyelids feel very heavy and I’m very hungry. A strong couch lock feeling lasted for an hour then slowly dissipates.

Strain name: Grape Kush (Soil)

Smell test: When you open the bag a grape indica smell fills the room. It has a strong grape smell with a distinct “cat piss” like indica undertone.

Sight test: The buds look short, fat, and dense and have lots of trichomes. It has different shades of green with hints of orange and purple. Trimmed beautifully and at closer examination all the trichomes are milky white with some amber heads.

Pinch test: When you pinch a nug you can feel how dense it is and it is pretty quick to sponge back to it’s shape. Trichomes are falling everywhere and the grape indica smell gets stronger. The stems have a little more give and snaps nicely.

Taste test: Upon inhale there is a strong grape flavor that reminds me of a purple Kelloggs Fruitloop. The smoke is very smooth, easy to hold and tastes almost the same on exhale. This stuff is yummy.

Brain test: I packed 0.25g in the blue dot and torched it. All of it burned and I had room for more smoke. I ghosted it no problem and after a few minutes I can feel my eyelids getting heavier. My back pain is gone and I can feel my stomach starting to work. I’m feeling semi-functional good for social or physical activities.

Strain name: Lemon Kush* (Soil)

Smell test: When you open the bag the smell of lemon pine fills the air and then you notice a very slight earthy indica smell that slowly makes its way forward. And as I pull it away from my nose I begin to pick up the feint scent of skunk.

Sight test: The buds look short, fat, and dense and every last inch is covered in trichomes. They have a light shade of lime green and short, reddish brown hairs coming from the tips of the calyxes. These nugs are trimmed perfectly and at closer examination the trichomes are everywhere with milky white and amber heads.

Pinch test: When you pinch a flower it slowly sponges back out and releases a noticeable lemon and skunk smell. The stems bend easily to a bout 45 degrees before the give a nice snap. A little piece of bud fell off, so I pressed it down and it stuck to my finger as I lifted it because of all the resin.

Taste test: On inhale the smoke is smooth with lots of lemon flavor and a little bit of skunk. It’s so smooth that holding it in is no problem despite the expansion you feel when the smoke hits your lungs. The exhale mirrors the intake with a slight spicy after taste.

Brain test: Once again, I packed 0.25g in the bowl and the bic did its magic. I got a hit that filled my lungs and let it out quick because I could still see some green in the bowl. I torched the rest and sucked it through right as the smoke hit my mouth for the second time. My eyelids dropped immediately and my back is feeling excellent. My mood is great and I’m starting to crave something sweet.

Strain name: G-13 (Soil)

Smell test: At first all I can smell is the fresh citrus aroma. Then a slight spicy pine scent makes itself known. Not a very strong odor but it is probably because I accidentally left the bag improperly sealed.

Sight test: The nugs are pretty big and popcorn like. It has beautiful shades of light and dark green with orange brown hairs. With the naked eye you can see how long the trichomes are. At closer examination the trichomes are all milky white with amber heads here and there.

Pinch test: When I first pinched the nug, it sponged back out fairly quick and released more of its fragrance. When you let go you can see the trichomes stuck to your fingers. Cured perfectly, the stems have just the right amount of give right before the barely audible snap.

Taste test: Upon in hale the citrus flavor rolls smoothly over your tongue and as the smoke fills your lungs it expands. When you exhale you taste feint remnants of the citrus but taste that entire spicy pine flavor.

Brain test: Once again I loaded 0.25g in the trustee ole’ blue dot and it burned perfectly, I could take as big or small of a hit as I wanted to. I was able to take it all in one rip and completely ghosted it. I didn’t notice the effect immediately but after a couple of minutes I could feel it creeping up on me. This is a good pain reliever with strong couch lock effect making it perfect for night time medicating.

Edibles I tried:

Keef Cola: This drink has a nice, sweet like candy, blueberry flavor. As I drank a whole soda, all of my body aches and pain were gone and I was still highly functional. This is great for pain management or helping you fall asleep.


Granny T’s Tuff Truffles: These are the best edibles I’ve ever tried, hands down. At first I was a bit skeptical since I’m not a big edibles person and it was after all a raspberry, my least favorite flavor. The directions say to start with a ¼ of the truffle. I took a bite and it tasted so good I couldn’t stop. My aches and pains faded completely away after about 5 minutes and also hit me with some couch lock. This truffle had me feeling good for about 2 hours.

Peanut Butter Cups (Individuals): These taste excellent. The peanut butter isn’t too oily and the chocolate is rich with very little taste of cannabis. One cup had my pain under control for about 45 minutes.

I use to come here all the time, now the buds are NOT impressive, on the exception on various strains that are over priced. The employee's use to talk to be a treat me as a valuable patient, now I do not feel appreciated at all! The attitude is definatly a big reason to never come back again! I had changed my caregiver to Herbal Wellness and come to find out my name was SOLD!?! I am definatly not impressed!

Anything over 15/gm is over priced no matter the quality. Tried some G-13 a while back and wasn't impressed. Was told it was MEAN! Paid way too much. Don't really seem to be focused on the patient here.

I might not be the best critic due to my tolerance, but I really enjoyed the buds here and the customer service. I came in for the first time, filled out my paperwork and was fully informed on all the changes coming Sept 1 as well as ways for me to make sure I'm completly compliant with said changes. I found this to be very encouraging that these people whom were strangers, took the time to explain all my rights and how changes might impact me. I honestly felt like they were telling me, not because they wanted my business, but rather they wanted me to be completly up to date on everything changing in this ever-changing business. After all my paperwork, I was led back to their bud room, allthough it was a little cramped and the lighting in the cases could have been much better (especially since my friend who was with me is partially blind) I found their selection to be ranked with the best in the city. Over 30 different strains, including my new favorite, Lambs Breath (gotta get this! medicated out of my skull), and a blue cheese that had much deeper hints of the blue and left an amazing after taste. I will definitly be going back for their selection, prices and overall patient care. Thanks for being what a dispensary should be!

This place USED to be my frst choice when buying meds. Thier strains have went downhill bigtime since used to go there. thier prices are waayyy to much for the quality of strains they have. I purchased some lambs breath from them and found 4 seeds in it. USED to be my frst choice now it s defnitely the last on my list. What happened, they went from having good meds and prices to having sub-par meds with higher pricing. No longer do they care about thier patients, just the money with gimmicks of hash oil dipped meds baked in an oven for 50 dollars a gram plz.

VERY disappointed. Pricing is WAY out of line. In fact let me just say this place is out of touch with reality. You can fluff all the pillows and paint your walls in a nice appealing color and have a professional clean operation, yet you can't hide the fact that you are way out of line with the prices. And the paint colors and atmosphere doesn't justify the pricing. In fact I marked them down on atmosphere because the place bummed me out when I saw what they were charging! The quality was not any better than all the other dispensaries in town. They had good bud don't get me wrong, but they also had fair bud. YET the prices reflect Thai Stick or something really sweet treat wise which just isn't the case. The parking was lacking also.

Nice set up. Random, ever-changing menu with regular surprises. Bud is above average in quality and my only complaint is a couple of choices (SAGE, Grapefruit) were a bit on the dry side. Also, the security design of the floor plan does not really welcome interaction with the final product: close inspection is limited icluding weighing. Prices are moderate to expensive, but again, all medications delivered as described and I've paid more for less. Tax is not included. Parking can be tight and there is little option that does not require running across 6 lanes of traffic. Wish they provided an online up-to-date menu for those with a commute. I will continue to use this provider and have become fond of the wednesday BOGO's plus, they maintain one of the most gorgeous greeter/salesgirls i've yet encountered...

My experience with HW has always been great! I visit atleast 2-3 times a week. The armed/gated security is a bonus for me. Ive walked into some stores in questionable neighborhoods and felt sketch about walking to the car with a bag full of mmj. Not here! The staff is wonderful. I personally have never had a bad experience here, the staff has never been rude-always friendly. This place always has good deals, good buds, good hash, good edibles and good service. And my personal preference, i would rather have a budtender that looks as if she is in stripper clothes than a 60 yr old hippy who smells like patchouli... Im not against hippies or patchouli, im just saying... my preferences! I love this place, i travel from 100th and washington just to get my meds here, passing up twenty other places in the process. And when most places dont open till 11 and close at 6 or 7, HW opens at 9am and closes at 9pm. Very helpful if you ask me!

Herbal Wellness has got great Meds, thier G13 is Super Dank. the scent on this stuff is so pungent it stings my nose. the stone is deeply physically relaxing and was very helpful with relieving my naseau. I tried a few other strains off their mid shelf they were pretty descent for $40 an eigth and they were both fat. The atmosphere could use a little work but the staff is frienly and helpful so overall it's a chill spot. This was my first time in and I'll definetly be coming back.

First thing that needs to be said is that Tip Jars are TACKY!!!
However, the budtender was dressed a little like a stripper so perhaps she was confused which job she was at.
Friendly staff even though it felt like we totally interupted something when we walked in.
we only walked out of here with some edibles and a couple of the shots...

Nice place, a bit unwelcoming with the gate and guards, but then again you have to have that. Some of the buds I got where great, others where normal "ok" buds. I plan on trying this place again, its easy to find but not so easy to get out of if you want to leave the same direction you came in from.

what happened to zach and randy seems like they were the only ones who knew what i really wanted i wont go back here anymore its just not the same. hassles at the gate people not knowing my name i spent thousands of dollars here and for what hassles and terrible medication selections by these "budtenders". and why did the prices go up and the quality of bud go down.

Ok where to start.. My 1st experience was really good. The parking was ok. Keep in mind you are going to what use to be a residence. I like that it seems more comfortable to me. When i went to the door a friendly security guard answered and opened the doors for my mom and I. He was very informative. They took our paperwork and gave us some of there paperwork lol it wasnt too bad took 5 or so mins. Shortly after they took my mom and I back to the bud room which was a little small but im a friendly person so i dont really mind. The bud tender was real nice and knew his buds he said he had tried almost everone so i felt comfortable with what he was giving me. They hooked us up with a little care pack for them being our caregiver. We got a tincture and i think a half 8th. The tincture didnt do much for me but i do have a high tolerance and edibles dont seem to do much for me. The bud i got was ATF and it was awesome great morning high omg i cleaned the house dancing the whole time lol. My mom got the hash plant and really like that. when i left the security guard opened the doors for us and pretty much walked us outside we were parked right there but it made me feel safe being a female.

My 2nd trip was great as well they totally remembered me and no waiting. Every trip has been a good experience for my mom and I. We've also tried the mothers finest and it was ok got me high but not my favorite. For 4/20 i got some grape kush or maybe it was purple kush that stuff was awesome.

My most recent trip is what made me write my review it was kind of the make it or break it. today i would find out who they were really in business for and thats us there patients. I woke up with a migrane im thinking from the stuff i smoked the night before it sucked dont go to herbs4you. anyways so i had a friend drive me down to herbal with my whole 6 dollars praying the whole way they would do something for me. well they did. i didnt get to see my favorite security guard but was still greeted friendly. Also my favorite bud tender was there she's real cute and friendly. She was totally willing to hook me up with a joint for my 6 bucks im not sure what it was she gave me at that point i didnt care but im totally in a better mood with just a slight headache and hardly smoked any of the joint. That was awesome guys!!!! thanks again. and you know what am now convinced this is my place. If your into top notch high class places its not for you. I consider myself to me middle to lower class. we struggle to pay our bills but make it by. This place is casual and has great pot!!! Only thing i would change if i were you is expanding the bud room just a little bit and maybe serve some snacks. Something i havnt seen before and maybe profit wise you cant but put out small samples of your edibles/candy or maybe even a taste of ice cream in the summer. i think this is long enough lol great place guys!!!!!
